At Kāpiti Coast Hockey Club, children in school years 3 and 4 can learn to play hockey at our development sessions and play hockey for their school.
Year 3-4 Hockey Program
Sundays mornings starting on the 9th May 2021 between 9.30am -11.30am.
We are kicking off the 2020 Hockey season slightly different this time round with the first two weeks focused on a development session for this age group.
This new initiative is based on parent feedback around training and support at the start of the season for all coaches and/or parents thinking about putting their hands up to coach.
Each school will bring their teams, coaches and those thinking about coaching to the first two Sundays.
At each of these session, teams will spread out and rotate around of coaching stations that will relate to basic hockey skills for good 6-aside hockey. There will be resources relating to the sessions that will be given to all coaches following the session so that you can make use of them in your own coaching sessions.

Development sessions for all skill levels
Kāpiti Coast Hockey Club runs development days during the school holidays, and mid-week development sessions in the lead up to the hockey season.
In these sessions, your child will learn new skills and refine existing hockey skills in a fun, friendly and welcoming environment.
Join a 6-a-side inter-school hockey team
The Kāpiti Coast Hockey Club hosts a fun inter-school league during terms two and three.
All schools are welcome to participate and all skill levels are welcome.
Games are played at Kāpiti Coast Hockey Club on:
- Sunday mornings for years 3 and 4 between
- Wednesday afternoons (7-a-side) for years 5 and 6
- Tuesday afternoons (7-a-side) for years 7 and 8
The league starts with two development sessions which all players and coaches are encouraged to attend.
