We are developing a strong local umpire network. We encourage the correct pathways, aligning alongside Wellington hockey’s umpire development programmes.
Years 3-8
Kāpiti Coast Hockey Club juniors is leading the way with its junior umpire development programme
We intend to build on this and continue to develop junior umpires. We encourage anyone who is willing to give umpiring a go to contact us and experience our training, mentoring and umpiring opportunities.
If your child is interested in becoming an umpire or wants to continue umpiring, please contact us.
We are working with Wellington Hockey Association to arrange a pre-season training session that will include the Hockey New Zealand Junior Hockey Badge theory session.
